I made 130pips profit from aud/usd in 6minutes by selling it off strong resistance, and only traded at £1 per pip but still a nice extra £130 from that.

I sold oil, but got in foolishly late as wanted to much clarification of markets going down, however oil didnt follow dow as much as i wanted it to.


So im now stuck with £3 sell on oil from 67.31! :(


part of me does want to hold overnight for a pullback, however that will be veru much just based on luck and hope, and i really dont want to be in overnight... :(


But dont want to be a fool and take a loss now, just to wakeup tomorrow and findout i would have made a few hundred if i did what i keep not doing and ''doing nothing''.

I dropped all of them just below $68 cos the dow spiking extremely now.


Bit annoying to lose a few hundred quid like that, but thats me done for the day.

I caught another £159 of oil in the last 2mins. :p


And am now holding £3 sell on oil overnight from 67.92 cos of the dows crash of over 300points down in the last 5mins!!


Target is around the 64.93 area.
 
Ooooh oil is down to 67.46, so thats currently £140 profit! :)

I just so much wish my sb firm would allow overnight constant trading... :(


What are abn ambro like with keeping their oil spread same during the night??

Cos i thinking of using them for overnight oil trades
 
It has widened to 20 from 3. The chart I printed out says the open hours are 2:30am-midnight (ie closed for 2 1/2 hours) but I am not 100% sure on that.
 
Hi Spanish89. I too am fairly new to trading. I got wiped out but struck out on my own and learned to keep my loses small and ride my winners. I work full time and trade Europe before going to my 9 to 5. My question is how in the world are u living off of 4k pounds? i I am going to keep working and trading until I am well over 100k probably 150k before I just trade for a living. I took 6k to 12k got wiped back to 2k and took that to a little over 20k now. I way over traded and it is scary to look back at any of those trades that might have gone against me. For instance 10 mini dow contracts on an account under 8k at the time. I trade way smarter now but wouldn't feel comfortable living of my trading just yet.
 
I would suggest protection in case your trading does not last. A few suggestions are buying gold for the long haul - buying foreclosure and tax sale properties.

True story, a friend of mine made 120k in 2006 - he spent it all on trips and stuff. His business has now died, and he is broke working at a CB shop for $70 a day. He has nothing to show for it but a few stories about the fun vacations etc.

If he would have bought rental properties, and gold - he would be kicking it back still and actually have some net worth.

Go on holiday to Barcelona in December, then gotta buy everyone loads of expensive presents for xmas, and really wanna book a carribean trip soonish. Might have to increase my weekly targets, lol.
