4G LTE Trading

That's my cable internet over Wi-Fi benchmarks
Should be enough but still it's unstable.

Might consider another package ...
Another router and an ethernet cable

WIFI channel should be fine as there's no one around me.
Networkcard should also be fine (Dual-Band Wireless-AC 8265)
lol you can't trade futures with that latency. relocate from Somalia.

On wifi at ~60ft from the router. You should get gigabit.

Currently use DSL from the 7th most powerful country in the world. However I live in a remote area where I have a very poor reception.

No fiber. No Cable. No 5G.
Poor DSL. Poor 4G.

Definitely need to move towards a “better” area.
At least … An office closer to town where the fiber is available.

Or get Starlink ;).

I asked you if you had cable internet available.

You replied that was cable internet. I then commented that it was pretty bad, looked like DSL speeds.

Now you say it actually IS DSL.

So I change my comment in that reply to the above post to

"That's pretty fucking horrible having to use DSL, sucks man."

Because without satellite (being your final option), you're TSOL on trading anything other than Western Union telegrams.

I've tried DSL in the past when vacationing in Maine and that's all they had. And if the standard web-browsing I was doing was any indication of typical DSL behavior, I shudder to think of the crummy action you'd get running any algo/system that needs precision.

Can't even fathom what your packet-loss figures might look like, which is a really important metric.

Wasn’t sure about “Cable” and then found out it was DSL. I wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t for trading but that really sucks. Sometimes it takes a while to load a web page and Netflix isn’t always clean and fluid neither.

The fiber isn’t far away but for some reason they didn’t cover my specific area which is within the mountain. Got to check with them what’s going on and how to get the fiber asap.

How is the 4G network? Try a speedtest on 4G with your smartphone or something and post the results if you can.

DSL reaches theoretical limits
Because I am the only user right now.

Down 5.24 Up 0.67 Latency 49ms

4G is very inconsistent (I reach 2 bars)
Down 11.6 Up 0.63 Latency ???
Down 12.8 Up 1.52 Latency ???
Ping is about 40ms

Most of the time I have 1 bar
“Could not connect”
Very inconsistent 4G

I was thinking maybe a 4G -> wifi modem could work for you but that probably won't work either with that kind of 4G connection, unless you where to use some special antennas.

Seems like Starlink is the best option for you, besides moving.

Missed a great discount on starlink
200$ for the equipment
40$ monthly subscription

Could reach 200mb/s Down and 50mb/s up
With 60ms latency. From some reviews.

One guy said it quickly disconnects once a day,
Because it’s switching from satellite to satellite.
