46" LCD monitor

Quote from saxon22:

I doubt anybody is broadcasting in 1080p. So far, the highest you can get is 1080i from your local cable company or satellite provider. The only way to get 1080p is to play a Blue ray or HD DVD program on a dedicated player connected with the right cables.

As for the size, I thought I had unresolved issues for wanting a 30" Dell for my new rig. 46".... that is a lot of overcompensating if you ask me. What next, a viper or better yet a locomotive in the backyard?????? Freud would have a field day with some of you guys! :D :D :D :D

Correct... no 1080p broadcast. So, unless you have HDMI devices, paying for a 1080p HDTV is a waste of $$$.

what sold me of going big screen was a dell demo kiosk at the mall. they had a computer hooked up to a 37" LCD. looked pretty good. it's not the size... it's how you use it. ah, porn on big screen...

I'm waiting for the post Christmas, post superbowl drop in price. I see a lot of supply at the stores, and I'm guessing they overstocked LCD big screens for the holidays.

Correct and most people, especially sales people wont tell you this factoid.

Incidentally, have you or anyone on this thread tried running HD DVD's via the new PS3 or even an XBOX on a 720p, 1080i, or 1080p larger size screen?

It's my day off for two more hours :) :)

my main reason to get 1080p is for the resolution to run on PC, to get the bigger desktop. so 1080 is easy for PC to run in theory.
