40 Reasons for Gun Control

Ask jason williamson of the NET's ...he almost did it once to himself, Once to Wayne Chrebet and then finally he blew away his chauffeur accidently, proving once again that practice makes perfect

AA,

As they say, where genius has it's limit, stupidity has no upper bounds.

I will see if I can find a more meaningful breakdown of the 10,000 while I wait for W to speak at 2.

But considering there are 1-2 million women raped a year and there are more than 299 women killed and assaulted by "husbands", the implications are that there is quite a bit more violence that takes place in the home, with known attackers than most people think.

Regards,

metooxx - the .45's a great gun (still have a Colt semi-auto). But there's something to be said for the double sized clips on the 9mms.

Muzzle energy of a HV 9mm is comparable to (or in some cases even in excess of) a normal .45 ACP round and if you use a hydrashock or Glaser all the energy is transferred to the target for maximum stopping power.

Example - the 9mm 147g Hydrashock has a muzzle velocity of 1,011 feet per second which has transferrable energy comparable to a 230g .45ACP round - and you can carry twice as many for the same weight.

TM_Direct - yeah, I know it happens (I even knew a cop who shot himself in the foot while horsing around with his gun in the car while on patrol - go figure). I'm still amazed at how stupid people can be sometimes.

1. The right to bear "arms" is absolutely crystal clear. Anybody that would say we can't have SOME kind of gun doesn't believe in the constitution or the rights of the individual. The presence of these kinds of people in the Dem party is one reason the main stream of society has lost faith in them.

2. Guns are already heavily regulated. For anybody to have a gun you already have to register it, at least in my state. Convicted felons are not allowed to have guns, at least in my state. The types of guns/weapons that the public is allowed to have is already severely restricted in relation to what the military has. The military has hand held grenade launchers operated by one person alone that can level a house. We are already restricted, and we don't need to be any more restricted. hell, if i were to take my trusty old pump shotgun ( the only gun I have ) and saw a couple inches off the barrel, the ATF could legally storm in and get me as a threat to society. Enough is enough.

3. Liberals that hate guns and have no gun knowlege of any kind are not fit to determine what kind of weapon is appropriate for every situation. Even the police in my area are saying that their standard issue .38 pistols are not enough, and they should know.

147g Hydrashock huh? hmm... I have a Sig Sauer that holds 15 rounds :D

You should see some of the cops on base that carry guns... gees

As a kid I was scared of being near a gun. I didn't know much about it. I didn't know how to use it. All I knew was that it kills.

Now when I see guns I don't get nervous at all. I usually work in restricted areas, so I'll b.s. with the cops every now and then. Their 9mm Berreta is right there on their hip or a m16 around their shoulder. I see guns all the time that it doesn't even bother me anymore.

Plus, when I was taught how to use guns, the first thing I learned was SAFETY. I learned how to handle guns safely and how to shoot guns safely. Yea accidents do happen, but the more precautious you are the less chance of an accident happening. If you take apart your gun to clean it... the only way it can hurt someone is if you throw it

As far as those that are anti-guns... yes I do not like all the crime in the world. I'd like something done as well. Too many innocent people die, but I truly believe banning guns won't eliminate the problem. Something must be done about those that commit crime.

peace... have a good weekend. I'm off to Romania

:D
