40% of the people who get infected never develop antibodies. This means that only 60% of those who got infected developed antibodies.

Typically you need 70% of greater of a population to have antibodies to develop "herd immunity" for a disease like COVID. If only 60% of the population can only get antibodies via infection then the population will never reach the 70% figure via infections --- vaccines are the only hope.

Ah, right, makes sense. I guess social distancing and mask wearing will have to make up the gap for now. Better treatment, even without a vaccine, should get hospitalizations down, too.

We don't know those without antibodies can catch covid again.
They may be immune anyway.

But if they can get infected again, maybe they get antibodies the next time.
So we could easily get over 60 percent with immunity and hence natural herd immunity.

That paper was very good news for natural immunity. (hence natural herd immunity.)

As noted by CDC and WHO for an infectious disease like COVID-19 you will not get herd immunity below 70% of the population.

As noted many times in previous medical studies it is nearly impossible to get much above a 50% immunity for a population naturally — therefore any expectation of “natural herd immunity” is completely unrealistic for COVID-19.

OK... if you want to discuss this rationally.

1. Could people who don't show antibodies on the test... still have immunity?
2. Could those people catch it a second time or third time and then get antibodies?
3. So we could get to 50, 60, 70, 80 or even higher levels of the population having antibodies and hence we could arrive at herd immunity?

That is just one scenario proving GWB lies his ass off.

But we have others.
The article and other papers have indicated older and more severe cases have a much higher rate of creating antibodies.

So the general population might create immunities at a 85 percent rate.

That is scenario 2 and there are myraid more.
