4 input 43" 4k dell monitor

monitors are history. Get a VR set and you get unlimited amount of screens.

By the way, I don't get the Dell solution. The point of screen real estate is to see things all at the same time. People purchase multiple screens in order to look at different content with minimal efforts (without key stroke or such). Whats the point to have a screen that takes 4 different inputs? You need to switch back and forth to zoom into each screen or need to accept that the screen real estate is gonna be 1/4 of a 43 inch screen (which can turn out to be a horrible solution given fonts can get very tiny if you wanna fit a certain amount of content on each screen).

Instead of 4 screens have one monitor with four 1080p inputs then zoom in. Picture on link shows trading example.

I'm currently using a 42" 4k made by "wasabi Mango" (Korean) that uses an LG screen. I paid 649 for it a few months ago on Amazon. They have a 49" model now for under 900 dollars and a 52" version for just over 1000.00 on Amazon.
It works great for trading using Ninja trader. I have multiple windows open and can see everything I need to see without moving my head

VR sets are still a rather very long way out till they become more useable and practical and mainstream. o_O ...much more so for trading.

But they do look kind of amazing. truly is another world :)

disagree, there are several APIs and applications already out that create unlimited numbers of virtual desktops and can switch viewable desktop real-estate via gestures. So, "rather long way out till it becomes usable" is probably a very conservative point of view...

ctrl-left, ctrl-right, can do it all day right now and with gestures to boot. No need for VR anything.
 
sure, and how do you set your applications to always start and remain in the assigned virtual desktop places? IB's TWS already fails to start with...it does not work (yet) properly, at least not in Windows 10 or Ubuntu

...according to your logic nobody needs more than 1 display. Look at trading floors, the reality looks different, nobody wants to flip back and forth via key strokes, they wanna turn their head or eyes a little to the left and right and look at different content...sounds like we are talking about nitty gritty implementation details but it is the precise reason most traders currently employ multi monitor setups...and that is what a VR set provides as an alternative to multi monitor setups.

You've got one pair of eyes so how is "VR" going to help you anymore there other than you turn your head rather than hitting a keystroke? Traders use multiple monitors for both peripheral vision and reducing keystrokes, that's about it. It isn't required by any stretch.
 
exactly, glad you agree. Multi monitors for key stroke reduction, same with VR. Virtual Desktops, as you suggested, does not solve this issue. Back to the topic, its very hard to understand how a monitor as OP referred to makes sense given this can all be achieved via software solution.
