37" LCD as a trading screen

Hey guys. I am idiot when it comes to computers. Been thinking about switching out my dual 19" with my bedroom 37" LCD.

I hooked it up just now and it looks like crap. Everything is HUGE and grainy. The video card I have is whatever comes standard with the Dell E510. Radeon X300 SE???

If I get a new video card, will it work for a 37" LCD? Will it look good? Will I be able to size everything down??

Obviously, I haven't a clue when it comes to this stuff. If anyone could help the idiot that is me out, would greatly appreciate it.
 
try to change resolution. right click anywhere on screen,down to properties->settings->screen resolution. put something like 1280x1024 or more
 
Yah i did that. Have it on 1280x1024 and that is where everything is grainy and huge. Then tried 1360x768 and it was better, but then everything was sized all wrong.

So I guess 37" just weren't meant to be used for computer screens? or I am just an idiot and can't figure it out.

what is max. resolution of this TV? TV 's is not good for this stuff anyway. unless you have something like sharp aquos(i think it can do 1900x1600?)

I suspect the limiting factors to getting the result you are looking for is not only the graphic card, but the quality of your LCD.

I have seen larger than 37" screens used for desktop apps - have a look at these babes!

I'm looking at a quad screen config, and of course Matrox is high on my list. You should check out Nvidea's website as well.
they have some awsome cards (actually they don't make the cards - its all third parties). I use one of their Quadro FX cards for 3D rendering.

You may want to leave your LCD display in the bedroom - you only have to replace it anyway!!

Thanks for the help guys. Yah, its just the resolution on the LCD.

I just hooked up to my Sony SXRD 1920 x 1080 and it looks pretty decent. But am going to stick with the dual monitors for now.
