32 inch monitor

I use 3 x 4k monitors at full resolution. Using a XTrader Pro on a i7 7700k (but no noticeable difference to my i7 6600k, and my old i7 4790k which even though have now passed down the food chain I think was actually quicker). None of these machines were overcooked as I want reliability as they are on 24 x 7.

I have a lot of ladders open - approx 50 with the associated X Study charts (in the main all synthetic spreads). Using a GTX 1060 6GB through the three Displayports - and I actually RTD from my non-clean working PC to my trading box. The time to change Workspaces is 1min 45secs which is annoying.

Definitely the graphics card is a huge constraint. Without the graphics card but using the integrated i7 Intel graphics it takes about 4mins.

The NIC card doesn't seem to make a difference but then I only have a 10/100 ethernet connection to 80Mb fibre optic (actually about 75Mb according to Speedtest.net as I am close to the exchange so very little copper wire). My perhaps naive understanding is that it is only 80Mb coming in then moving up to 1Gb ethernet although a fairly cheap upgrade won't make a difference. But perhaps I am wrong. I can go for 300Mb cable in my area but I haven't done this as I wanted to save a few bob. (What is typical broadband speed in the US?)

But a 1060 does do the job - probably quite adequately if you don't trade so many products as me - but then I guess that you do if you want the 12k of "real estate". I am looking at moving up to GTX 1080. (Just made a thumping loss - so will probably wait for a good day or week).

I would not go for a 1050.

Does anybody have their experience of whether a GTX 1080 or 1080 Ti will have a significant improvement over a 1060 6GB before I spend the additional £300- 600 - I will probably sell the old one on ebay
Does 3x32" 4k monitors running at full resolution would be the same as 12x 1080p screens? Each 4k monitor is the same as 4 x 1080p monitors. The 3 of them is the same as 12 x 1080p. That's a lot of screen space. Nice setup. I'm looking to upgrade my 6 x 1080P screens to multiple 4k monitors, but haven't decided 2 or 3 monitors, 43" or 32" ...

I have three 28" Brillance 2188P from Phillips - but they keep on going wrong. They still form quite a bank in front of me and I need to turn my head quite a bit. Obviously they are in Portrait position. I have experimented with them being on 125% and 150% magnification (otherwise text is too small to see) - so I don't quite get the full pixels -but this enables the small text to be legible. Much better than the two 2560 x 1600 for screen space that I had before but the LG W3000H were far better monitors - going strong after 10 years without any hiccups.

To be honest I could do with a bit more screen space as I struggle to fit all my ladders in my 3 workspaces (will need another 2 soon as I start to monitor new spreads).

I have been fiddling with Graphics Card and discovered on Nvidia Control that there is under 3D a Power Management Mode with I have turned to Prefer Maximum Performance and now my screens load up in 35 secs when reloading - but the XStudy charts take 3-4 minutes when loading a new workspace. I am guessing that this is a delay in drawing in all the data for calculating the synthetic spreads.

I am wondering if this is due to a limitation in my broker's charting server. Anyway at least I get my workspaces loaded up a bit quicker. Maybe I might experiment with overclocking the graphics card and see if this has an impact and if so then that will tell me that a 1080 will be a worthwhile expenditure.

Incidentally GPU-Z suggests that the load of the graphics card is small when loading workspaces but I don't believe this.

Here's a photo of my workspace - today was in the red although a bit of profit at market settlement. A messy desk as well.

I uses 32" monitors. Mine is Samsung S27d850T.
I have three 32" monitors connected to a PC.
I like it because I can rotate it so that it is in portrait format.

I've got these too. They are amazing and for perfect for business use.

I would say that my eyes will be completely broken if I will use something like that for example here. I couldn't understand how people can use some monitors here lately and that's really it. 30 inches is seems way too much for anyone I would say.

I have read that 43" to 55" is about the best for distance and the work on your graphics chip / card. At those sizes, windows doesn't have to do scaling which supposedly stresses your card. A YouTuber I watched went through his setup using 4K TV's. I will try to find the video for reference.

Is anyone here using a 4k display with their laptop? I am looking at this option to replace my desktop.
