I don't know for sure if it's just been dumb luck, but I've experienced a 31% return on my total account since last Monday.

I'm ecstatic, obviously, but is this normal for a good week? I still don't know what kind of returns people have been experiencing during "good" weeks.

I'm going long/short on individual stocks (from 1 to 5 positions per day), holding from close one day until close of the next day, and margining up to 30% max.

HEY! WELCOME BACK MR. MARKET!!! WHERE YOU BEEN?
BRING ME YOUR FINEST MEATS AND CHEESES AND THE HEAD OF ALICE ON A PLATTER!!!

IM HUGE!:D :D

Who's actually making a living trading? PLEASE BE HONEST
I'm sure this poll's probably been done before, but I wanted to find out how successful people really are trading.

Right now, because I don't want to drain my account, I'm just livin' on borrowed time (i.e., credit cards). But, if this don't work in a few months, I'll be back on the job market (I've noticed it's damn hard doin' both!).

=============================================

cool...now you can pay off your credit cards and quit the night shift at Wendy's!!!!!

A "good week" for most of the 'traders' here, a term I use loosely, is one where they didn't lose money.

If you don't know, then, chances are it is dumb luck. Can you imagine if you decided to try your hand at surgery 'cause you read a book written in 1919 about it and, not "knowing for sure" what to expect, all your patients in the first week of your practice did well? Couldn't attribute that to anything else but dumb luck.

Demo of powe rof compound interest is if one had $1 compounded since the time of Christ it would be over billions now.. even at 3% compounded annually...

You must be confusing Elite with the Motely Fool board, or maybe those IRC chats.

We are the Champions. (apologies to Queen)

Actually, "Fat-Bottomed Girls" is more like it.

This is a normal return and most traders on this board average 30 to 40% a week. Assuming you started with $1000 you should have somewhere around $1,257,494,424.58 at the end of the year. But that's before taxes.

An hour after i read this post i was still laughing.
