So why is that a problem? The Republicans are opposed in principle to early and late voting. Why would they compromise thier bedrock unwavering principles and look bad in front of thier constituents by pleading for early voting in thier favored districts.

By the way, the opposite has occurred in other states: Early voting denied in Negro dominated districts in states with Republican majorities.

The answer is every state should make voting available to every
legally registered voter (including those with out ID) in a way that places the smallest burden possible. Election Day is rare, and I can't see why polling hours can't be from 6 am to 9pm, like they are in my town in CT, which happens to be 60% Republican,
has a median household income of $230,000, and out of a population of 10,500, 98% is white. Aah, how nice it is to be among the 1%! I don't think I would enjoy living in N.Carolina. Y'all southerners just rub me the wrong way. Plus being a Jew might get me lynched down there.

So according to you it is perfectly legal in the U.S. to pay people for their vote. I certainly hope that others disagree with you.

As for the first issue....So they took the 528 names flagged as non-citizens that came from the voter rolls and then checked the names against the voter rolls. Obviously if the person is on the voter roll then they are a citizen according to you and the Wake County Board of Elections. Yes, any reasonable person can see the problem here with the validation process.

BTW... North Carolina does not do a citizenship check when you apply to vote as outlined in articles both in the N&O and WRAL locally. You simply need to check the box on the form affirming you are a citizen and that is all that is required.

1) Whether something is legal is not a matter of my opinion or yours, it is a matter of law.

2) Wrongo! Names during registration are cross checked against databases to validate citizenship. The citizen box check is to be able to prosecute those who make illegal registrations.

I wonder, out of those 528 registrations, how many were Republican? I would guess somewhere between 0 and less than 1.

OK.... what databases are the voters cross-checked against. Please name the databases. I will call the Wake County Board of Elections tomorrow and ask them if they cross-check voter registration applications against the databases you claim.

BTW--- the answer is "No". As outlined in many articles, North Carolina does not check citizenship against any databases during the voter registration process. The Democratic legislature determined a long time ago that this would be a form of voter suppression. Your application is based on the "honor system" for your declaration of citizenship.
