Completely true. Thank you for insinuating that it is the individual that killed these kids. The firearm was merely an efficient tool. But he could have done it with a knife, or his car, etc.

Secondly, as stated numerous times in the NRA thread, the question of the weapon being obtained legally or illegally is relevant insofar as a potential solution to prevent further such tragedies can be found. If it is illegally obtained, I have yet to hear anyone offer a solution to murders committed by criminals that obtained a firearm illegally.

If it is legally obtained, then we can begin to discuss whether or not the system failed (and what would be required to fix it) or whether only the individual is to blame.

What is the logical response to a religion that claims to "kill all who do not conform to us"? I say, KILL THEM FIRST!

Of course I know it is the individual. I've mentioned the problem with the character-centric approach before. If guns must be present, then to prevent this kind of thing from happening we need to intrude into people's heads, so we can see what they're likely to do (if not what they're actually thinking). I'm sure the gun-loving right (I like guns, too) will have no problem with such government led intrusion, since we are powerless to do anything about highly efficient weapons.

This crime is a tragedy and I hope the perp gets the appropriate punishment (by which I mean the DP). These are three young people that had a great future ahead of them.

However the anti-Muslim angle of the crime is being overblown. These three young people were murdered over a parking dispute.

If there is, I am not aware of it. There have been studies that have "shown" (and I think it is intuitive as well) that vastly, murders committed with firearms are done by those will illegally acquired firearms.

There ARE statistics that have been posted here showing how licensed carry owners commit almost no crime whatsoever.
