"It is now apparent there will be no debate on October 15, and the CPD will turn its attention to preparations for the final presidential debate scheduled for October 22," the commission said in a statement.

The commission, with the backing of their health advisers, announced on Thursday morning that -- because Trump tested positive for the coronavirus -- the debate that was scheduled for Miami would be held virtually, with the two candidates appearing from remote locations. Trump swiftly rejected that plan, saying he would not show up and setting off a series of events that put the future of all general election debates into question.

A virtual debate is a joke. I'd have backed out as well, and I really don't like Trump. Instead, both candidates will be holding a town hall at the same exact time. Let us see which one does better and is more viewed. If it goes as I expect, Trump will take it handedly because of the Howard Stern phenomenon....

Trump said he'd be at the second debate. And he would have. Then the debate commission changed the rules and made it virtual. Saying he wouldn't be a part of that isn't chickening out. Let's just be honest here.

You can argue if the rules should have been changed (based on the train wreck of the first one, or COVID Trump, or whatever). But deciding to not partake because you change the format last minute to a version that isn't in his best interest and gives the other candidate an advantage, doesn't mean chickening out.
 
A virtual debate is nothing but, nonsense, cynical attempt by extreme liberals to give Joe Biden another way to cheat in the debates. What is stop anyone from the Joe Biden camp to give him a teleprompter with all the answers? Or a device near his ear whispering to him all the answers to the debate questions. Chris Wallace and Susan Page as moderators have been jokes, note even showing any fairness in giving both candidates equal time. They should have superimposed time under the candidates but, would have prevented moderators from giving both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris more time? Susan Page, interrupted Mike Pence numerous times in mid-sentence. She like Chris Wallace, changed topics abruptly, when President Trump or Mike Pence were making their points.
