25% tariff on goods coming in from Mexico announced

Been saying he's been gaming the market since way before he started hitting Amazon
Cliff's notes on that. Why do you think this?

I am rubbing my chin on it, and getting the feeling he really is using his political pulpit to game the markets for his unknown "friends". I hate to think this is true, but damn, things keep falling into place on that line of thought.

And this stems from that Howard Stern interview on the Colbert show last week (2 weeks ago?).

Stern has some SERIOUS insights into people, as he's been digging into people's psyches for 40 years.

should've picked some auto stocks

I don't trade stocks. But hell, you could be in practically anything related to Mexico now and see the future contract on it pop. Hmm...

I am guessing the ags will respond well. Live cow, too, as they sagged some today. By 50% of their daily limit, heh.

Focus. Stop moving the goalpost. It's unbecoming.

Your "dissertation" has absolutely nothing to do with my assertions -- and I don't do 'going down rabbit holes.' Please reread my posts regarding Why I think Trump will moonwalk on his Mexico Tariffs, and try responding to that instead--or don't. Thanks!
He won’t backtrack. Mexico will blink.....MR just kicked a 60 yard field goal. Yu gonna give him a cheer? He gets 2 deals..Veggies and national guard on Mexico/Guatemala border while you debate your silly arguments...ROFLMAO

i got a bridge to sell you. As someone who alleges to have lived in Latin America, I'm surprised at your lack of knowledge on how far a crisp Benjamin goes with "law enforcement" down there.

Play the man, not the cards.

Trump wants to do progressive tariffs if Mexico allows immigrants to enter the U.S.; but he doesn't want to be overrode by Republicans more so. So, rather than simply withdraw the proposal, he'll spin it into "another great MAGA deal!" to save face, as he knows his followers will eat it up.

Trump wants to go into the 2020 elections with as much support as possible--as his freedom may depend on it.

Interesting possibility you raise. But if anything like that is occurring, I believe it would actually be the friends, family, employees (lawyers, doctors, etc.) and other advisers around him, that are actually manipulating him into making various volatile markets via tweets for their personal gains.

Trump simply wants the markets to keep going up.

Sometimes I have to be reminded of old conclusions that have been blatantly obvious. The guy's been polishing turds and selling them as chocolate sorbet for two years now....but with elections coming up, the Trump flip flop going into overdrive may require revisit of that trading strategy. Basically call the bluff every single time, because he's a master at spinning for his base.
