You would probably get a lot of the answers to these narrow questions by reading "Let Trump be Trump" by Bossie and Lewandowski (fired in the spring of 2016).

It's an excellent inside account from the time he considered running, all the way to winning the White House, from people inside the campaign. And the Russia nonsense is explained. Great read!

Since you have read the book, can you just answer a simple question.

If the contacts with Russians were innocuous, then why risk a jail sentence (lying to the FBI is a federal crime) over it?
 
Read "Let Trump be Trump".. I could read that however I read as a kid that immersion of one's head in a bucket of water can prove fatal in as little as 1 1/2 minutes. This taught me to respect even small amounts of my time.

Understanding the supporters, very useful.
