24" Acer LCD?

I will concur. The Samsung 24" 245BW's are simply incredible for trading. Run three of them. Very sharp text, excellent contrast, easy on the eyes and $399 @ Costco.
 
just from personal experience. I got a viewsonic 24" TN panel because of the positive reviews. But the picture just seems unclear with those shaky feeling (not sure how to describe it).
When trying to use it for trading it always gave me a headache.

This when compared to my old dell 20" ultrasharp, even though the dell is not as bright, the text was crystal clear.

Anyway i couldnt stand it anymore after a week, returned and bought a dell 24" ultrasharp for 200 bucks more. It was love at first sight, has the same crystal clear picture as my 20" dell except a lot brighter.

If you are using the screen heavily for trading etc...i suggest pay the 200 extra bucks and get a good panel like the dell ultrasharp. It will be one of your best "trades" considering you will use it for years to come and depend on it to win and loss money many times greater than the cost of the lcd.

Also check TigerDirect.com and Buy.com (free shippings). I think shop.cnet.com has some good comps on machines and monitors. I bot a Samsung 20.1" about 2 months ago..at CircuitCity where I went to buy an Acer but ended up with Samsung because it was an open box item and marked down to $179 :D

So I take it these 24" Samsungs are not TN panels? The more I think about I will probably go with a non TN panel.

I also believe that Soyo that was mentioned earlier isn't a TN panel either?

Both have TN panels. You can tell by the cheap price, and the "vertical viewing angle of 160 degrees or less". (There is some "creative defining" of viewing angle by manufacturers, so be careful when the angle is stated as 170 degrees")

"Viewing angle = 176 or 178 degrees", panel is either some form of *VA or IPS

"Viewing angle = 160 degrees or less", panel is TN

"Viewing angle = 170 degrees"... could be a *VA panel or a TN panel and manufacturer is exaggerating.. to give the impression its viewing angle is better than it really is.
