Next on deck... I like Twilio.

Here's the thing about chip stocks, including the great NVDA.... they are always early movers. Right now they are priced at historically high valuations... but what comes next is the companies that actually monetize the chip-maker wears.

NVDA might keep going, but long term, it will be the software providers one step down the food-chain that will really profit.

I hate to re-post something, but every now and then I'd rather put it here, so it doesn't get buried in a bunch of childish banter.

This... regarding generative AI and potential problems going forward:

One of the biggest issues going forward will be the use of generative AI that has derived its results from existing intellectual property. Artists' rights is going to become a HUGE issue.

Last month when I said Accenture was oversold at $330, and it is about 8% below that level now.... was based on my premise that huge quagmires (and hundreds of large lawsuits based on the unlicensed use of IP) is looming large going forward. I couldn't think of a company that profits off of this kind of tumultuous environment, so ACN was my best guess. When I saw it was down that much, I figured that might be the play. Either way, if anyone has a company that profits off of guiding Fortune 500 companies thru the minefields of avoiding major litigation, it might be worth a look going forward because I really think this is gonna be a big thing in the not too distant future. And the consulting companies that deal with this stuff, will see top-line revenue grow over the next several years, because it is going to become a major issue.

Gee... look what hit the news this week and is now dominating all the AI discussions, courtesy of Scarlett Johansson. Imagine that.

Two more stocks that I keep track of. Neither will move fast, but for a 12 month time-frame assuming no large market-wide correction, they'll slowly grind up.

AIR-- it sold off today on a revenue miss. $64.30 now. It's a solid company, in the right sector. Low volume. It's an off the radar type stock. It's the type of stock Berkshire would buy, and hold for 10 years.

BJ-- They're growing, like a Costco, membership club. $66. It's overdue to live north of $70 and start grinding towards $80.

AIR might pull back some more as this is day 1 on the sell off. Anything below $60 would be great.
BJ's just hit ah all-time high @$87.

Twilio is trading at a forward multiple of about 19 and 2.5 sales. The balance sheet is rock solid. Forecast QoQ and YoY sales aren't anything to get excited about, 5%-10% organic in 2024 (big window really), but they have a $3B buyback in place, and said they would buyback $2B in 2024; so I guess unlike most stated buybacks (that companies aren't required to act on), this one is in fact going to happen.

I don't think it'll rocketship up from here, but at $59 and change, unless they screw something up, it should at least be good for 10% between now and year end. Unless of course the Naz drops nicely and then flat-lines for a bit, which could certainly happen.

They hired a new VP to head up their Segment division, which represents about 7% of their revenue, and they are forecasting it to be GAAP breakeven by Q1 2025, with substantial growth prospects. The whole company will be GAAP breakeven by the end of 2025.

I think it's pretty solid, all things being equal.

They are a cool warehouse club. Good prices, and not over saturated like Costco. I dunno' their internals, but it would not be uncomfortable to park a few grand in their stock.
