As we move on from the 2022 thread and go forwards to 2024, I am posting one more time, my analysis of the Red win in 2022. This has not been refuted as I suspect even most Democrats now realize the predicament that they are in facing the next election. And now---it's onward to 2024!--
The 2022 mid term elections were indeed a big Red Tsunami as the Reagan/Trump/DeSantis revolution continues unabated. Key takeaways here are that Republicans won The House and nearly took The Senate. The Senate was set up for Democrats to win big in The Senate and they didn't. They barely eeked out a slim victory in The Senate. A quick reminder is that the Dems have to defend 23 seats in 2024 and The Republicans only need to defend 10. So, The Democrats are in deep trouble in 2024. The Dems actually had a huge advantage in 2022 with Republicans having to defend so many seats and Dems failed to capitalize. In fact, the incumbent Dems, for the most part, barely defended their seats. On The House side, Republicans closed the margin gaps in a great deal of districts that were traditionally blue districts and will eventually flip to Red.--- Florida, Georgia, Texas, Ohio and New York are now collectively, the tip of the spear as seats were won there and flipped there even in places that have been traditionally blue such as Miami-Dade and Long Island. In the case of NY and Long Island, this was accomplished even with the mass exodus out of NY by traditional folks. Florida also now has all of their statewide seats going Republican. This is something that hasn't occurred since Reconstruction. Even in California, Republicans flipped House Seats. One other item---Nationwide, Republicans garnered 51.2 percent of the votes for The House and The Democrats received 47.3 percent. There are numerous other evidential instances of the Red Tsunami but this is enough for now. Make no mistake----Republicans may not have taken as many seats as were projected, but this was indeed a Red Tsunami and now we need to work on 2024 and first thing is to try and get the voting to be conducted in a much more transparent and concise way.
2024 Senate Map Strongly Favors Republicans

“At least nine Democratic-held seats in competitive states will be up in 2024 — Arizona (Kyrsten Sinema), Michigan (Debbie Stabenow), Minnesota (Amy Klobuchar), Montana (Jon Tester), Nevada (Jacky Rosen), Ohio (Sherrod Brown), Pennsylvania (Bob Casey), West Virginia (Joe Manchin III) and Wisconsin (Tammy Baldwin).”
“Democrats may eventually hold some, most or all of these seats, of course. Tester, Brown, Casey and Manchin, for example, have shown the ability to attract working-class white voters and to win in a difficult environment.”
the Reagan/Trump/DeSantis revolution
An abomination to consider Trump and DeSantis as being the heirs of the Reagan revolution.
Neither of those men approach Reagan's intelligence, his true love for this country, and his respect for American democracy. You disrespect Reagan by implying he'd approve of Trump and DeSantis. He would be especially critical of Trump, and in Trump's case, Reagan would probably be willing to speak ill of a fellow Republican because Reagan would consider Trump the "RINO." Reagan represents the GOP as it was. Gingrich is the architect and Trump the instrument of the Republican's fall from anything resembling grandness. DeSantis is merely representative of that into which the Republican party has been transformed.
The party of Trump-DeSantis is Republican in name only. It is most emphatically not the party of Eisenhower and Reagan.
I'd vote for an Eisenhower or a Reagan.
I will never vote MAGA.
