2022 Mid-term election is over----Dems just don't realize it yet

DeSantis has a lot of support but he needs to do something to take Trump out before Trump takes him out.

Nope. The exact opposite is true. Ron has a full time job. He needs to keep doing that and out of the corner of his eye watch what is going on. As long as he is seeing himself going up in the polls and support for Trump going down he needs to stay calm, do his job, and not openly engage in any sumo wrestling with Trump.

Trump has entered a presidential race ungodly early. He even wanted to enter a month ago but got talked out of it. There is a two year grind ahead and he has nothing else to do but stir the pot. The last think DeSantis should do is allow Trump to drag him into that early on so that he starts being perceived as just a political hack rather than a governor doing his job. The obligatory mud fights will come at some point, but this is wayyyy to early. Not for Trump because he has declared.

The other thing is that DeSantis wants lots of Trumps voters. The ideal arrangement for him is to just continue to watch others take Trump out. I don't get why you are saying DeSantis is not doing a great job of deflecting Trump. Trump tried to shame him by giving him a name. Ron did not go for the bait. And then he just watched Trump supporters and other Republicans telling Trump to knock it off. He played that perfectly.

On The House side, Republicans closed the margin gaps in a great deal of districts that were traditionally blue districts and will eventually flip to Red.--- Florida, Georgia, Texas, Ohio and New York are now collectively, the tip of the spear as seats were won there and flipped there even in places that have been traditionally blue such as Miami-Dade and Long Island. In the case of NY and Long Island, this was accomplished even with the mass exodus out of NY by traditional folks. Florida also now has all of their statewide seats going Republican. This is something that hasn't occurred since Reconstruction. Even in California, Republicans flipped House Seats. One other item---Nationwide, Republicans garnered 51.2 percent of the votes for The House and The Democrats received 47.3 percent. There are numerous other evidential instances of the Red Tsunami but this is enough for now. Make no mistake----Republicans may not have taken as many seats as were projected, but this was indeed a Red Tsunami and now we need to work on 2024 and first thing is to try and get the voting to be conducted in a much more transparent and concise way.

I'm not sure about the abortion thing. It didn't seem to hurt in Florida, NY, OH, Georgia, Texas and even California. I rather think it had more to do with the way people are allowed to vote by mail and ballot harvesting and early voting.
