I know the Dems and the MSM all hate Mitch McConnell. If he loses in 2020 to that Marine F-18 lady in KY, but the Pubs keep the Senate... who will get his position as Majority Leader?
I guess I was asleep in Civics class. I looked on Wiki, and Grassley is the President pro tempore... (I just kind of figured that would be McConnell.) Who has more power? McConnell right? Seems like it at least. Hows that work?
Either way, I guess the Senate Republican Conference picks the leader, and I guess that includes all the Senators right? The reason I ask is when McConnell decided not to bring the Garland vote to the floor, was that his decision, or is that voted on within the ranks? All these things really, that the media always pins on McConnell... are they his personal decisions? I mean I know he gets input from the ranks, but is it ultimately his choice ?
