Poll out today shows Trump way out ahead in Texas.
Bush won Texas by 25 points,Romney won it by 16 and Trump won it by 9.Now its within 1.4 points.
If you think this isn't possible Beto only lost to Cruz by 2.6 points.This was after multiple Trump visits to campaign for Cruz

I know the Dems and the MSM all hate Mitch McConnell. If he loses in 2020 to that Marine F-18 lady in KY, but the Pubs keep the Senate... who will get his position as Majority Leader?
I guess I was asleep in Civics class. I looked on Wiki, and Grassley is the President pro tempore... (I just kind of figured that would be McConnell.) Who has more power? McConnell right? Seems like it at least. Hows that work?
Either way, I guess the Senate Republican Conference picks the leader, and I guess that includes all the Senators right? The reason I ask is when McConnell decided not to bring the Garland vote to the floor, was that his decision, or is that voted on within the ranks? All these things really, that the media always pins on McConnell... are they his personal decisions? I mean I know he gets input from the ranks, but is it ultimately his choice ?
No Idea. It would not be Ted Cruz. McConnell will be reelected I should think. The Senate is run by one person and all decisions by The Senate are made by one individual.
A little of both. It was decided by Mitch. But he acted knowing that that from a sheer parliamentary point of view he could- in theory- be overruled by various procedures in theory- except he knew the votes were not there to do that.
If the majority of republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee disagreed with Mitch they could have still voted Garland's nomination out on to the floor or to hold hearings anyway, but they all went on record as supporting Mitch so there was no play there. And they went on record before the nomination was even referred to them. And in theory, the full Senate can vote something out on to the floor even if a committee votes to kill it but the dems did not have the votes to do that either. But then again, how do you get a nomination even referred to a committee if the speaker won't allow it. It can be done but requires lots and lots of votes by the full senate. Easier said than done.
