There is also the sad fact that even a break even system can be nicely positive in 50% of years.
eg A system with a mean annual return of 0% and standard deviation of 25%. Trading with discipline that system will make money 50% of years and some years it will even make 40%+ returns. But combined with losing years will revert to 0% overall.
Neke may still have an edge above random, but the edge probably is not big enough to overcome commissions + trading mistakes etc, let alone withdrawals.

Stocks and Stock options (weeklies). Strategies diverse. Going mostly automated.
Much of the big down days have been going big on options - trying to stem a losing trade. I have been much better this year avoiding that.
