2014: The Battle for Survival

At this point it's probably fair to assume that trading the current methods is not working for Neke. Best to either change the approach completely or start investing in other ways. We get attached to our systems because they worked once and a lot of work has gone into it. The market does not care about any of this. I suffer from the same problem.
It is often very difficult to admit we don't know as much as we think, that we need to change instead of keep doing the same thing and expect different results.

Not sure how I came up with my original $13,000. Lol. But yours isn't right either.
The math is 123,000 - 106,500 (16,500 drawdown) - 16,500 withdrawals = breakeven, like he said.

One "withdrawal" was a deposit, or so we thought, but further checking the numbers, he just missed the - sign in front of the 1450, but that is also a withdrawal.

So yes, flat year.

Yes the 1,450 should be -1,450 like other withdrawals. Never deposited to that account since I started the first thread in 2007

The underlying strategy might be fine, just require a bit of tweaking every now and then.
It could be too many mistakes and and poor discipline that is the problem.

Only Neke knows how much money he is losing from mistakes and poor discipline.

You know, Churchill wasn't that much liked.

But he was a necessary man, because others stayed quiet, until inevitable tragedies begun.

This journey - was a tragedy.

Which one fits thou better - it's up to OP.

February had a -40% DD. I think he averages into losers, >>> poor discipline.

He has tweaked his strategy a lot over the years. There are times when 90% of the strategy stops working, it's not always a complete throwaway. But little tweaks only do so much. I've had one that worked amazingly up to the 2008/9 period, it was simple enough not to be curve fit. Ever since then, it has produced nothing and no tweaks could make it profitable - all I saw was noise.
Most often it's an overcrowded trade but that's just a guess.
