2013: 4th warmest year on record

And yet governments spend over $4 Billion per year promoting man-made global warming. Of course, this only serves to feed alarmist promoters such as Al Gore who made over $200 million off of his GIM hedgefund - all of it from government sponsored carbbon-credit schemes and cronyism-based green investments.

This explains jem's douchey behavior and the ignorance and delusions of many on the right about AGW....

"Conservative groups may have spent up to $1bn a year on the effort to deny science and oppose action on climate change, according to the first extensive study into the anatomy of the anti-climate effort.

The anti-climate effort has been largely underwritten by conservative billionaires, often working through secretive funding networks. They have displaced corporations as the prime supporters of 91 think tanks, advocacy groups and industry associations which have worked to block action on climate change. Such financial support has hardened conservative opposition to climate policy, ultimately dooming any chances of action from Congress to cut greenhouse gas emissions that are warming the planet, the study found.

“I call it the climate-change counter movement,” said the author of the study, Drexel University sociologist Robert Brulle. “It is not just a couple of rogue individuals doing this. This is a large-scale political effort.”

Brulle's study, published on Friday in the journal Climatic Change, offers the most definitive exposure to date of the political and financial forces blocking American action on climate change. Still, there are big gaps.

Donald Brown, an associate professor in environmental ethics, science and law at Penn State University, has this to say about climate science disinformation: "We may not have a word for this type of crime yet, but the international community should find a way of classifying extraordinarily irresponsible scientific claims that could lead to mass suffering as some type of crime against humanity."

They are not PROMOTING global warming you asshole. Unless by that you mean that NOAA and NASA does science.

have collectively spent, on average, a billion dollars a year, in order to fool the American public into thinking that climate change isn't happening, and that, even if it is, it's not caused by burning fossil fuels. These aristocrats control fossil fuels corporations, such as Koch Industries, and ExxonMobil, but their money for this mass-deception campaign is laundered through far-right-wing foundations they control, to think-tanks they control, which, in turn, buy professors to provide "authority" for these distortions and outright lies. That is why the reality (a graphical presentation of which can be seen at places such as this ), though acknowledged by virtually all climatologists, is rejected, just disbelieved, by much of the public.

They, in turn, pay professors and journalists to write, both for the "news media," and for professional journals, to debunk or (in the scholarly publications) to raise questions about, global warming or its cause -- questions that are no longer even questions among actual climate scientists.

This has to be the STUPIDEST article ever written. It is a prime example of FUZZY math. It is assumes that every single dollar ever contributed to a conservative think tank was solely for the purpose of denying man-made global warming to come up with the magical $1B figure.

"Listed in order, with the largest listed first, the nine foundations that account for half of this total billion-dollar-a-year expenditure, are: Donors Trust, Scaife, Bradley, Koch, Howard, Pope, Searle, Dunn's, and Richardson. Their money is then further laundered, through the following eleven think-tanks, listed here also largest-first, which collectively account for a full two-thirds of this total billion-dollar-a-year propaganda campaign: American Enterprise Institute, Heritage Foundation, Hoover Institution, Manhattan Institute, Cato Institute, Hudson Institute, Atlas Economic Research, Americans for Prosperity, John Locke Foundation, Heartland Institute, and Reason Foundation."

All of these conservative think tanks are focused on much more than global warming. In fact global warming is a minor side issue for all of them - which accounts for under 1% of their spending. To try to claim that every dollar spent funding these think tanks is a dollar spent "denying" global warming is absurd.

Are you denying that Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" was not a marketing stunt whose sole purpose was to drive investments to his hedge fund.

Oh this is rich -- an "ethics" professor from the same Penn State that produced Sandusky and Mann.

Mann and his ilk should be put on trial for fraud. They are no different than the clown Wakefield in the U.K. who tried to tie autism to vaccines with fake data.

:D

I keep thinking that at some point. Futurecunts getting his head handed to him everyday would wear him down. You think he's really too stupid to know he's lost the debate? Or is he just trolling as the troll poll indicates?

This week the masters of the "crusher crew" have demanded that the minions go on the offensive across the web by posting about an article published in the December issue of "Climate Change" titled "Institutionalizing delay: foundation funding and the creation of U.S. climate change counter-movement organizations" Of course they want you to pay to see the actual study (link here).

This article reports that all of the conservative think tank money is spent "on maintaining a field frame that justifies unlimited use of fossil fuels by attempting to delegitimate the science that supports the necessity of mandatory limits on carbon emissions." Of course the math in the article assumes that these think tanks spend every last dollar solely on denying AGW to come up with the magical $1B figure.

FC is being a good little crusher crew member and pushing this nonsense in P&R this week at the direction of his Skeptical Science masters. Let's humor and mock his effort - it should only take a few minutes to watch him dive off the deep end and exhibit the standard characteristics of a troll.
