Quote from ElecEquity:

Dan Zanger didn't keep his money. Everyone thinks he went from something like $11k to $40 million and that's it. Read some of his old interviews and you'll see that he did reach that equity peak --- BUT gave back 75% of his profits his equity peak of $40mm...which placed him at about $10mm. Not chump change at all to be sure. That said, he's still a great trader and I follow him on Twitter.

Check out page 78 (right column) where he says, "I lost 75 percent total from the Nortel incident to the end of the bear market."

Good point. I heard that he lost half to the government in tax and half back to the market. He should have take the money and run.

Positive but disturbing week, up 2.3K (1%).

Looks like Friday seems to be my nemesis these days. Was up 8K going into friday, lost most of that in a trade.

Was your loss friday from a discretionary or mechanical trade?

Neke, FWIW many traders I know have referred to f***ed up Friday's for years. I trade the open on Friday's and then close the book for the week.

Weekly Update for week 5/50 ended 2/18/2012

Nice week, up 7.6K (4%).

This is one of those weeks that seem like a loss considering all the opportunities I had to make it big. Bedevilled with execution short-comings: too fast to lock in gains and getting easily shaken out of otherwise profitable trades. Profits could easily have been three times that reported.

Opening Balance: 190,672

Good job Neke. Don't focus on woulda shoulda coulda. Ask yourself if you followed your plan for your trades to determine a successful / disappointing week . $7600 is good coin as is $2300. With the last 2 weeks you have covered 2 months of your 5k draws you plan on taking every month; at least that is what i remembering you mentioning in previous posts.

Never look back, always look forward. The past is the past. Take what you learned from last week and apply it to your trading plan going forward.

Hi neke,

Great journals, I hope you dont mind me summarizing your weekly P&L so far for 2012:

Week 1: (14,450)
Week 2: 8,860
Week 3: (3,770)
Week 4: 2,303
Week 5: 7,631

When your journal gets to the middle or later part of the year, it can be hard for us to find the weekly P/L for the earlier part of the year because your Journals get so many posts.
