2012 Republicans: Who can defeat Obama/Who will you vote for?

Quote from Maverick74:

I see Dennis Kucinch as a possibility for a third party run. He would get a lot of right wing libertarians behind him as well as the Ron Paul crowd if he doesn't run. I still am not ruling out Howard Dean. There are some very angry progressives that now are fully aware that their candidate has sold out. They are as stubborn as the Christian right and they will get their candidate one way or another even if they have to vote 3rd party.

The Christian right won't back Palin, they will back Huckabee. I don't see Huckabee getting the nomination.

Kucinich? Dean? HORRID choices for all but "dog poop scooper"!!

However, Palin will never be a successful candidate. The MSM has branded her as "stupid and worse"... regardless of the fact the media is wrong. People/voters are stupid and naive.. would never look beyond what they are fed by the MSM.

Quote from OPTIONAL777:

Her real base is not turning on her. The more people attack her, from left or right, the stronger her base becomes in their blind support of her. She is the type of person who feeds on the criticism, simply because it allows her to play the victim...and her base eats that shit up.

I continue to believe the more criticism she gets from left and right, the more it keeps her in the spotlight, the stronger the chance that she goes rogue and third party.

Much has to depend on whom the GOP nominee is, but her base I would guess is 10 to 15% of the electorate, and that is enough to get her into the race and have influence.

What we see right now is a pretty divided GOP. Sure, the GOP won the 2010 elections as a reactionary move against the dems...but that is not the same as a united GOP.

Yes, she has her middle america red state support. And you know how much money they have to give her? None. Come on Zzz, you know it takes money to win these elections. Obama spent what...150 million to win? She will not have the money to defeat any mainstream republican. For better or worse, elections are bought, not earned. The price tag is too high for her. Look at how much money Bloomberg spent on the Mayoral election and won by a handful of votes.

I don't think you are taking into the account the value of her celebrity, twitter, HuffingtonPost giving her endless pub, etc. The dems are very interested in her staying in the race, don't you think?

Grass roots is how Obama actually won, not the money. Those same grass roots did not come out to vote in 2010...

OK, I was wrong. Obama raised 650 million in total for the 2008 election. Yeah grassroots. Grassroots costs money, lots of money. When George Bush won in 2004, they cited grass root support. Of course they raised record amounts of money to pay for that grass root support.

Look, facebook, twitter, all that stuff, it has no tangible value. Sure, it has celebrity value. But you can't convert that into 650 million. That comes from the business community and wealthy donors of which she has none.

The pubs very badly want Obama out of office. If Palin does seriously think about a run, she will be handsomely paid to quit. She may throw her hat in, but she will quit after Super Tuesday and send her acolytes towards the most viable candidate, this way she can say she ran, and get paid.

Could a whore like Palin be paid off to throw her support to the GOP nominee?

Maybe so...but you still have that wacko Bachman and other windbaggers who may not be willing to settle.

Palin is top bitch (dog) on the female side, but I don't underestimate the rabid windbaggers being very pissed off if the GOP candidate doesn't give them what they want.

The windbaggers are to the GOP what terrorists and Al Quaeda are to moderate Muslim nations...

Who knows, Rand Paul has little to lose by a bid either...it would not hurt his career much at all to go rogue.

Bitch? Whore? Really? Come on, you are not elevating the debate here.

Did Palin call herself a pit bull or not?

If she did, she called herself a dog. A female dog is a bitch, no?

Has she made appearances for money, written books for money, charged for her time? Is she whoring herself out for money?

I think so, you don't?

I am not saying she is doing something illegal, whoring out is the American way, right?

Palin will do what Romney did this last cycle. He quit to avoid a showdown in the GOP. She will quit as well. The GOP cannot afford to be split, and even she is smart enuf to know this. It will all depend on whether Rush, Beck and Hannity pick up her flag. If they do it could be interesting. On the flip side, they could cause a civil war in the party. If they do this it will cost them the oval office. The pubs won the midterms because the masses do not vote in the midterms as a general rule. They will be out in 2012. And no matter how you slice it, an incumbent is hard to beat.
