GOP strategy should be focused on running a very serious, very business minded (with credentials to match), socially moderate candidate for POTUS in 2012.

Romney would be the best choice against Obama.But Romney was once pro choice,supports gun control,is a Mormon,and started universal health care in his State while Governor.When was the last time such a candidate won the Republican nomination ?How can the repubs criticize Obama for his push for universal health care when Romney started universal health care in Mass?How can the re pubs criticize Obama for gun control when Romney supports gun control ? McCain beat Rudy and Romney due to some of these reasons.Romney is more of a moderate democrat then he is a Republican imo

What ever happened to Chuck Hagel? He was one of the reasonable ones. Wasn't he discussing a possible run with Bloomberg as a third party?

I think 2012 will be ripe for a third party - even more than 1992 was.

Only a third party would tame the beast that Washington has become.
