I can't tell too much from these stats, though. I liked the journal a lot more when you highlighted the best and worst trades.

From three weeks ago, I changed to almost exclusively automated and mechanical (save for some pre-market/after-hour activity), the rules being laid out in blank and white via automation. It is not my intention to disclose such mechanical trades (except when the results are such that I can't keep silent!!!) for fear of people copying - I do not want any competition!

OK just for this week, here they are:

Code:

-------------------------------------

When it comes to options automation, I doubt anyone'd be able to reverse engineer your or any system for that matter. That fear is probably unfounded as I've never found anyone who could actually do it. Trust me, it is only a theory, and you shouldn't be too worried about it.

I had a long that day triggered in NQ at 2249, went out at 2235. Intervening, the trade would have held till around noon today, reverse it's long and going short at 2209, so I avoided an additional 26 points net profit and another 107 points of adverse excursion. Getting out was probably the best thing you could have done, but, knowing you I'm sure some of your trades later on were probably on the same instrument.

I still would have looked for a long around there but didn't take any real action and watched it tumble to 2128.

Nothing wrong with playing from the short side via selling shares or buying puts, but there isnt much of an edge in taking a position against a powerful up move because you think its over-extended. That was my point. That lesson cost me several thousand dollars.

You never had several thousand to begin with. Food stamp recipients dont have that kind of dough

Weekly Update for week 30/50 ended 8/12/2011

A good week, up 6K (2.5%) .

Started bad on Monday, losing 7K. Glad I limited the loss to that as the bigger sell-off later in the day would have done much damage. Spent the rest of the week recovering and ended up moving into positive territory.

Code:

Net gain for the week 6,152

a statement like this looks great, congrats, neke.

how about showing us what did you trade exactly, pls.

that would be lots more specific and exciting for fellow traders.

the amount of money you made is great, which deserves congrats.

however it would be even more meaningful for other traders, if they know what you traded and when you traded them.

are you open for that kind of further revelation, or are you just feeling more comfortable with just limiting your exposure to showing profits and losses for now?

hope you would have even more profit in days to come.... always remember to delimit each trade with tolerable loss, OK?

now i really like to see your trade setups and time frames used in those 127 trades per day?

 that is totally excessive for most of us who can not fly like superman trader yet..... LOL
