2006 World Cup in Germany - Soccer

Quote from ElCubano:

that head butt was the most exciting thing that happened in this world cup...:D and it was one hell of a head butt. Did the italian player flop as they all do when someone is near or do you think zouzou hit him with force??

That's the joke of this whole thing. It was hardly a head butt. A head butt is into the bridge of the nose and shatters bone and cartilage. The Italian player obviously embellished the fall. There is no doubt in my mind that Zidane snapped and went to head butt the guy in the real way, and then at the very last second something clicked inside him and he directed the head down to the guys chest as opposed to into his nose.

I won't be watching World Cup next time around because of the disgraceful diving. It is sickening to see pro athletes behaving like that.

I guess you have been reading on this particular subject.

What is driving you to do that?

Is it because of your current performance as a trader?

"Let's do what they did in ancient Rome: whoever has given us prestige and dignity should be treated differently, as one who has done something exemplary," said Italy's Justice Minister Clemente Mastella.

First Ravanelli, now Clemente Mastella. And there is not even a smiley. Things in this thread are getting worse. :)

By the way, are you sure you posted the right link? I can't find any reference to Mastella. Luckily
Actually, if this is wrong maybe it's better if you don't post the right one.

This does actually make kind of sense. I almost agree.

BBC must have cut that part out once the announcement was made..

"drama" has been part of the game for decades.

True. I actually think people are doing it less.
Yet, that doesn't make the game nicer. And FIFA knows it. They are getting harder with the actors.
Wish they did also something to stop the actors screaming and crying after a foul just to waste time. I wonder why they never used an effective time, instead of using the fourth official to give the extra minutes.

Hi, me & a bud are experiencing a memory lapse, hoping a poster here might know the answer > Who had knee surgery, then was right back to playing only days later?? thanks in advance!
