People were sure Brazil would be in the final. Then Germany. France is probably a better team, but Portugal is pretty good too. Scolari did a very good job. And they have pretty good players: Ronaldo, Figo, Deco, Maniche...
It's a semifinal: France should win, but anything can happen

SouthAmerica: I did watch almost all the games on this world cup and the conclusion that I arrived after watching the entire tournament is that this world cup displayed for the most part a very poor quality of soccer.
Other than the Ivory Coast - which was fun to watch â Argentina and Germany had some good plays here and there, and the rest of the bunch played very mediocre soccer including Brazil.
No team deserves to win the 2006 world cup in Germany.
The Italians had in general a bad tournament and even if they win â that game against Australia will put a stain on their final win. (The Australians were robbed on their game against Italy.)
France had a very bad first round â then they improved to âmediocreâ on the second round and they continued to move along on that path all the way to the final game.
I am very disappointed with the level of soccer that they played on this world cup. There is no outstanding team participating in this tournament that you could say â this is the best soccer team in the world.

It was the same with the last World Cup.The referees were instructed to crack down early on.Then they realised they'd have no teams left so they were told to ease up.When the players realise there's no profit in it,most of the diving stops.I think that for a dive like Ronaldo's - when he launched himself then made a second movement in the air - he should be fined half a year's wages and banned from the next tournament Portugal qualify for.
