2006 Economic Predictions

Gold will trade 800$. And Roche A.G. is the best company on the planet.

We got a pass on 2 things again this year: a financial blowup somewhere and the Iran nuclear story. You wanna keep betting on that going forward?

Younger solo and small traders: I say stay underleveraged = stay in the game. 25 year olds do not earn 100,000 or 250,000 or 1 million or whatever $ per year in numbers that you want to bet your farm on being included in. Never have - never will. Stay out of the unnecessary borrowing and debt peonage trap wherever possible also.

i like a lots of these...

I feel like the negative guy much of the time becuse i am also very bearish on 2006, 2007. I hope tht everything will be cherry...but just doesnt look that way.

Lets not forget the bird flu....if that bugger mutates....40% of the world will be sick...5%+ will die. it will crush entire industries and economies. lets hope that doesnt happen.

I dont see how the US economy can really be string next year. Housing in one way or another (wheter it is home building, retail, lumber, realty, furnishings..whatever) is 50% of the economy. when it crashes...there will be blood.

I cant stand teh administration...but I agree that a republican congress has been powerful enough to keep the liars in office...probably will reamain.

The environment as well is undergoing drastic changes, and bush does care to do anything about it....this is fundamental in the long term.

if i were religous, i would pray for a soft landing the next couple years.
 
i think the dow sees 8-9k easy. we're in the 4th or so longest bull market ever at 38 months as measured from the oct 2002 bottom. i think dec 2005 will be the peak for the whole earnings cycle and next year will be tough. I JSUT BRAVE WE GET A MONSTER MANIA RALLY INTO YEAR END SO I CAN SHORT BIG
 
USD down. $300B repatriated into dollars in '05 is over. The money from W's American Job Creation Act went to firing people and buying back stock illegally.

The democratic leadership( from the Abramov scandal) will not pursue an impeachment. Dem's care more about the United States of America than to try to overthrow our President. Just wait until "08. This administration will get their due.

Interest rates stay low. The Fed buys our bonds to protect the morgage holders. Fed talks of lowering rates in the future.

The S&P is down almost 10% by yearend. It goes down 20% sometime this year.

If the economy is as strong as the government statistics want you to believe, why than is the $ in a strong long term bear trend? I don't grasp it. Do you? Or should I ask Kudlow?
