$2000 Daily...? Anyone?

I sim traded for over a year before I traded a live account. I honestly don't think it should take that long to become consistently profitable.

$2,000 a day is very reasonable. Here's how:

20 contracts on ES
5 points average a day
= $5,000 a day
If you trade 200 days a year, that's $1,000,000.

Pick a simple style that works for you. Check out my blog... Feedback is welcome.

Quote from John47:

In sept. I made 54k. Last week (a pretty good week) I made 22k. I scalp futures professionally, I've been doing so for 2 years. I trade in an office on a dedicated line. I am backed trader which means part of those profits go to my backers...former floor traders who made the transition to the screen. In two years I'll be independent, and all that money will be mine.

I've been in this business for about 5 years total now and its a hard road. But there are those of us out there that make that kind of money. But to reiterate, its much harder and requires a lot more work than it seems when you start. To even ask the question "who's making 2k a day" implies you have a lot of work to do. I know because I asked those same questions years ago. People who I've conversed with on this board know me and know I'm not a bullshitter....Some of which I've probably been chatting with since I was slinging 1 lots on retail account. Like I said, its been a hard road.

I don't want to give out info about who I trade with, though I usually get PM's when I make a post like this. The purpose of this post is just to say, yes, there are futures scalpers out there making a lot of money and the opportunity is there for those that work for it and get with a good group. Though its very difficult, and only people that are willing to sacrifice a lot will make it. I started clerking with 9 people, all given the opportunity to trade and there are two of us left. The other guy had a 100k month last year. I will soon :) btw....I've personally traded w/ guys that have more than doubled that figure in a month as well.

The potential is out there but only a few make it....most read about trading, browse a message board and thats about it. For those that are very determined the rewards are there.

cheers :)

Thats incredible!
By scalping, how many ticks are you talking about per trade?
I assume you don't pay the normal commission...

Lol you would be suprised. I probably make twice as much as you, and im probably still half your age considering I havnt even made it to the legal drinking age in the "US of A". Our Real Estate Market isnt in the toilette like it is there...actually, it isnt just the real estate market thats in the toilette down there haha

Just the fact that your so arrogant, coupled with all the posts under your belt tells me your a forum "nut" with no actual results.

However, I could be wrong.

Quote from EminitraderDM:

If I didn't no any better I would say that you're a starving Real Estate Agent?

Nah that couldn't be it. Though there is quite a chip on that shoulder of yours.

Yup that's why you had to quote me twice when I put you on the spot. I must have hit a nerve. You could have just a) ignored me, b) Answer simply without trying to resort to personal attacks or c) Go off with personal attacks because you are too butthurt that someone sees through your BS. I wonder why you chose (c)

Like I said, a troll (although not so clever anymore) or some insecure person seeking attention & illussion on the internet (no better place to do so).

You still did not address my main point with a reasonable logical answer. Not that I expected you to. Enjoy living out your hopeless dreams on ET, you won't be the first.

Who's the internet troll here again?

LOL, I expected a little more, thought you were a reincarnation of the many trolls who come to ET.

Guess you are a new one. Speak to you on your new alias soon.

Thanks for the laugh.

Not quite so good today (a little more than 1/2 what I made yesterday), but still alright by my standards. Total on the day, $510.00

Thanks for your post John47, you really broght the thread up a notch, and your honesty and candor are greatly appreciated.

Today I'm posting to illustrate the fact that when a market has less range, you are going to make less money. While it should be obvious to the experienced traders, it isn't to someone who is new, and that is why they will as a question based on fixed dollar terms only.

Good trading.

I don't think this applies as much (or even at all !) to guys who are scalping larger size in the e-minis.
Can anyone speak up on this ?
