$2000 Daily...? Anyone?

Quote from chipmunk:

It's dead easy. Like taking candy from a bay. LOL Everyone is making $2,000+ per day working from home....so the vendors would have you believe. Try it with 1 contract and see how you do.

That’s exactly how im going to start. I think there is definitely some truth to what you’re saying.

There are a lot of people trading who are extremely successful! If I was able to pull $2000+ a day I wouldn’t be on this forum first of all, and second, I would be in a hotel room in the Dominican with my laptop and an ocean view.

Quote from Mecro:

You claim to make more than $1k a day and you're concerned about margins on S&P futures, which are pretty damn good comparing to most other products you can trade?

If you supposedely make so much in real estate (big lol right there already), you should have good capital and should trade with the least leverage possible, not the most. Hence, margins should not matter to you.

In other words, you are full of shit or a clever troll.

If I didn't no any better I would say that you're a starving Real Estate Agent?

Nah that couldn't be it. Though there is quite a chip on that shoulder of yours.

I never lose money! That’s why im hesitant about this profession.

If you don't want to lose money, this is probably not the business for you.

Yeah but you guys make it back im sure or you wouldnt be here.

What I do like about this business is that everything is up to yourself. Your as good as you want or as bad as you want depending on how much you work at it.

For the record, I'm very rich and successful as a trader, but I can't prove it because it's against my religion. When you doubt me, I'll be back to point out how much I don't care.

THE FACT THAT YOU EVEN HAD TO WRITE THIS, ASSURES THE WORLD THAT YOU ARE INSECURE AND MOST LIKELY BROKE AND VERY UNSSUCCESSFUL

I have to agree, thats a terrible excuse.

Amateurs focus on how much they can make
Pros focus on how much they can lose

You will understand this one day should you choose to put in the work.

Very true, I couldn't agree more. However, you do have to make money, and know you can make money first.

Quote from MandelbrotSet:

To Osorico's point and to try to keep the thread on track, I tend to use a 1:1 R:R and makeup for the losses by pressing my advantage when I see extreme conditions in the market place (like what we have now).

austinp is also a good trader and you would do well to search out both of their posts on this website as you begin you immersion into futures trading EminitraderDM.

I know you want the money, but you can't get it by chasing it, like Osorico says, it's all about discipline and money management.

Speaking of 1k per contract, while I could have gotten $1k today, I didn't, but I did do well ($900+ on one contract). But the average take historically for a good trader is more like $100 to $200 per contract, averaged out on a monthly basis, per market traded.

It's a long road and has been previously mentioned, more often than not is a journey which takes years to reach some level of accomplishment.

Good Luck,

JJ

I appreciate the great response! I plan to start with real money very shortly.(1 Contract to start)

I certainly hope it doest take years! I was told the same thing when I started in real estate although ended up shattering that mold. It would be great if I could do the same thing with day trading.
