$200/day/contract trading emin500..is that good?

If you're papertrading, make sure you buy at ask and
sell at bid to really simulate the real trading environment.
Slippage usually is one tick for each order buy/sell.

Sounds like your picking up nickels from in front of a steam-roller.

Good Luck!

to get closer to reality with my LIMIT orders, I should substract 1 tick in and one tick out.

I need to average $50 in papertrading to equal $25 in real trading and that is NOT including commissions.

Not sure things are going to work out but I 'll give it a try.

I will deal with commissions and losses later.

One thing at a time.

thanks all for suggestions and yes it was not a soft landing from my cloud back to reality.:(

so my first attempt was not a successful one.

ratio:78% winners
18 winners $850
5 losers -$300

total $550

If I consider the slippage(1 tick in/out)
so that is 23 trades x -$25= -$575

Slippage is substracted from profits
$550 - $575= -$25

Total loss of $25 and that is not even including commissions.
I've got to work harder I guess!

Good for you Doji.......atta boy

throw in another -$100 for daily P/L and it is as real as you can get.

syd697: ECO= ergodic candlestick oscillator. click here and read # 7-11-12 http://www.fibonaccitrader.com/journal_issue1/freejournal.htm

axehawk:papertrading is better than losing money in the market.
If you can't make it with the simulator, you'll burn your money putting your money in real trades. It does not mean that I will succeed even if I can make money with all simulators though. COngrats for your $18 000 Monopoly money.

saico: no charts as of yet...I don't know how to post charts, if you have a link please direct me!

H20: you're right about ECO but not sure myself about the orthograph.

sanjuro:"picking up nickels from in front of a steam-roller" I used to do that when I was a kid, but now I cannot outrun the steam-roller! thanks for tip

Gepart: I'll look into it.

nkhoi: yeah better be safe than sorry...

K.C.: I am not there yet...I wont start before at least another year, my financial timing no good right now, that is why I papertrade, to get a feel from the charts even if it is not my money on the line yet. Probably J-trader and I was told Interactive Broker is setup for emini as well, do you have a suggestion or 2?

Sorry about that. I was referring to the unrealistic treatment of your limit orders.

jump the queue (British) : to advance directly to or as if to the head of a line.

queue-jumping : when you unfairly go to the front of a queue (line).

As for Pamela Anderson, 30 years ago she was only 5. That would have been cradle-snatching, which could be viewed as a form of queue-jumping.
