20,000+ Floridians each week stand to lose benefits unless Senate acts soon!!!!!

Quote from Vinny1:

No one needs to work any more. Free money for everyone.

THAT needs to change.... Everybody receiving a government subsidy check should STOP GETTING THEIR CHECK. Instead, they should get a cot in a shelter with 3 meals a day and basic health care. If they want more than that out of their lives, they need to GET A JOB AND BECOME SELF-SUPPORTING!!

If the "productive" in our society are going to be forced to "support" the non-productive, it should be at a MINIMAL cost and benefit.

Quote from Thermactor:

Anybody else sick of middle-aged women with hyphenated last names from Florida?

It was a function of the "every divorced, remaired housewife has become a realtor" rampage. Hyphenated names look more impressive with the hairspray bees nest.

As far as the 20,000+ week losing benefits, I have a solution. Your last unemployment check comes with a life vest and a southeastern gulf current forecast. Both recommended for the swim back home.

"Service economy" ...............

Not really an economy is it?

Surprising consumer confidence numbers

Not really surprising is it?

Quote from hippie:

Workers who were classified as "employees" get theier benefits extended again. The contractors who are taxed under 1099 never get any help! All the extra government help goes to one group of workers while another group is totally forgotten.

Wasn't Stack a 1099 contractor?

I for one would LOVE to see this. Collect all the disenfranchised under one roof. Sounds like the makings of a revolution to me...

Or are you suggesting installing "special showers"?

Special showers? Not at all... unless you're talking about for the Federal Government...

I think those on government support are "too comfortable"... comfortable enough that maybe they have no incentive to get off of it.

My grandpa used to say, "Make something of yourself. The world doesn't owe you a living".
