I never understood this mystery:
Fact is: Germany does not have much natural resources on its own soil like oil and gas.
But Germany is due to its highly educated people a rich country.
So, then why did (or does) Germany not simply buy shares of oil and gas companies? Even foreign remote ones anywhere on the globe, be it in Africa, Russia, Asia, Norway or wherever.
I have a theory: it seems BigBrother USA forbids Germany to have its own fossil energy...
I'm sure USA is blackmailing Germany, much like any other of its vassals.
Having natural resources is not the only way for a country to prosper. Many countries in the world are examples of that, most of Europe and some in Middle East like Israel and many in Asia like Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan have all demonstrated that having skills, talent, technological excellence and innovative originality is more than enough to prosper. Of course that's not something that countries that lack originality and innovative spirit would understand obviously.
