1st year of trading

Quote from Mecro:

Number one problem is that you are relying on your trading for income. Obviously you have not enough capital.

Otherwise your progress is very good.

I totally agree with you, I quit my day job too soon. However I have access to more capital I just feel like I am not ready psychologically to deal with more money yet.

How do you guys handle increasing share size?

I only increase size with profits, if you have a good strategy it will build up by itself, if not be thankful you didn't increase. :)

...I make 3-4 trades per day and 45 out of every 100 is profitable, plus on average I make $3 for every $1 I lose...

...However I am up only 5% since June last year...

I am assuming that your win/loss and average-win-to-loss ratios have been improving over the course of your first year to these current levels, since you would have been up much more if you had those statistics from day one. This suggests that you are improving, and that is very encouraging, especially since these are very good numbers.

The fact that you made money in your first year of trading while trading with reasonable frequency sets you apart from most beginning traders by a wide margin. Very impressive.
