I'm not aware of any real factual support for this sweeping claim. The dreaded "assault weapon" is merely a semi auto rifle. You could ban them I suppose, and make criminals out of millions of law-abiding hunters and recreational shooters. But then logically you would also have to ban semi-auto shotguns and pistols. Let's be honest here, that is exactly what the anti-gun crowd want to do. They just are not honest enough to come out and say it.

What is your litmus test to determine racism? If you would like, we can move this conversation to another thread. I'd very much like to see a list of what your list of racist policies looks like, and why those policies are racist. No doubt I will agree with some. I'm not disputing that racism exists, but I'm tired of so many in the left calling everyone a racist for simple criticism or disagreement with people of color. I don't want to derail this thread so we can continue this later in a new thread for the issue. I have to run now. To get back on track....guns....I'm for 100% enforcement of all gun laws and further efforts to determine who should and shouldn't own weapons... of any kind.

The country has about 2 million privately owned guns in a nation of 8.3 million people. In 2016, the country had 47 attempted homicides with firearms. (US had 40,000 in 2018) The country's overall murder rate is near zero. What is so different about the USA?
