Complete and utter bullshit. Making 1000 times his money in less than half a year? Just look at the more volatile silver. If he caught the exact low in January 2011, then sold at the exact top in April, 2011, he would have made a non-leveraged less than 100%. Even if he was able to go 10:1 leverage, that's still < 1,000%, or 10 times his money, not 1000 times his money.

Richard Dennis made 116% after tax from 1970 to 1987 ($400 to $200 million), or 46%/yr after tax from 1974 to 1987 going from $1m to $200m, then losing a good chunk of his money when the markets didn't trend very well.
Gary Bielfeldt made about 38%/yr after tax for 23 years (before wiping out in the late 1980s and early 1990s when the bond market got choppy).
