16 years 9 months, crazy fast global warming

In a few weeks, we can say everyone in high school has experienced global warming at a rate not seen in thousands of years. They now see what they face in their future. All due to the pollution of our atmosphere with the greenhouse gas CO2 which is the dominant controlling GHG for the earth's temperature. Not water vapor.

Fig.A.gif

95% of the total greenhouse effect is due to water vapor in the earth's atmosphere. Man-made Co2 in the atmosphere amounts to only 0.117% of the total greenhouse effect.

If humans totally eliminated their contribution to greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the earth's average air temperature would continue to increase at about the same rate. You gloom and doom pushers should paint the earth white to reflect the sun's rays. Now that probably would halt global warming and put the earth back in another major ice-age. Then you gloom and doom pushers will have a legitimate problem to complain about as we all watch each-other starve to death.

Completely wrong. Humans have caused an increase by 40% of CO2 level.

From NASA. Perhaps you have heard of them?

"From the foregoing, it is clear that CO2 is the key atmospheric gas that exerts principal control (80% of the non-condensing GHG forcing) over the strength of the terrestrial greenhouse effect. Water vapor and clouds are fast-acting feedback effects, and as such, they are controlled by the radiative forcing supplied by the non-condensing GHGs.

The bottom line is that atmospheric carbon dioxide acts as a thermostat in regulating the temperature of Earth. The rapid increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide due to human industrial activity is therefore setting the course for continued global warming. Because of the large heat capacity of the climate system, the global surface temperature does not respond instantaneously to the sharp upturn of the carbon dioxide thermostat, which at this moment stands at 386.80 ppm compared to the normal interglacial maximum level of 280 ppm. Since humans are responsible for changing the level of atmospheric carbon dioxide, they then also have control over the global temperature of the Earth. Humans are at a difficult crossroad. Carbon dioxide is the lifeblood of civilization as we know it. It is also the direct cause fueling an impending climate disaster. There is no viable alternative to counteract global warming except through direct human effort to reduce the atmospheric CO2 level."

good watch, very compelling evidence presented by multiple speakers/scientists/researchers!

what a joke... you make up lies in response to the facts on this post I made a few weeks ago.

in a few weeks we can say no one in high school has experienced Global warming.

1. Remember fc the now failed models were not speaking of ocean temps.

2. An el nino may be in the works... so this pause is likely to end.

On the RSS satellite data, there has been no statistically-significant global warming for more than 26 years. None of the models predicted that, in effect, there would be no global warming for a quarter of a century.

New attempts to explain away the severe and growing discrepancy between prediction and reality emerge almost every day. Far too few of the scientists behind the climate scare have yet been willing to admit the obvious explanation – that the models have been programmed to predict far more warming than is now likely.

The long Pause may well come to an end by this winter. An el Niño event has begun. The usual suspects have said it will be a record-breaker, but, as yet, there is too little information to say how much temporary warming it will cause. The temperature spikes caused by the el Niños of 1998, 2007, and 2010 are clearly visible in Figs. 1-3.

El Niños occur about every three or four years, though no one is entirely sure what triggers them. They cause a temporary spike in temperature, often followed by a sharp drop during the la Niña phase, as can be seen in 1999, 2008, and 2011-2012, where there was a “double-dip” la Niña.

The ratio of el Niños to la Niñas tends to fall during the 30-year negative or cooling phases of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, the latest of which began in late 2001. So, though the Pause may pause for a few months at the turn of the year, it may well resume late in 2015.

Either way, it is ever clearer that global warming has not been happening at anything like the rate predicted by the climate models, and is not at all likely to occur even at the much-reduced rate now predicted. There could be as little as 1 Cº global warming this century, not the 3-4 Cº predicted by the IPCC.

Jem, you are a joke. Look at how much the world has warmed since 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000 etc in fact any date older than your fraudulent cherry-picked 1998 spike, on the above accurate (as opposed to your selective data set chart) chart from NOAA. This huge rate of warming is due to man's CO2 pollution.
