I've always said that police should take rape allegations with a grain of salt and make no serious move until they get proof. In our current society, if a woman claims to have been raped, the man is immediately jailed and convicted with no evidence other than the woman's allegation. It's no coincidence that with the emergence of DNA testing, you're hearing more and more stories men being freed after 20+ years of imprisonment after being falsely accused of rape.
