15 equity charts & 1 Emini chart: that's all I need

deadreader, just curious...do you trade real money or just paper trading for now? No offense, but I just can't see a serious trader worrying about $104! It's less than 2.25 points on the ES! That's less than what I made on Friday and I don't even trade full-time. But I do own other businesses and don't hold back when it comes to legitimate business expenses which affect my bottom line.

If I can get something as reliable and as fast, why waste the money? Geez, all I need is 16 miserable charts that move right to left....why pay $104 a month for it if I can use IB's datafeed and get the same service for (basically) free?
 
You can use Sierra with IB as the data feed. The main thing I don't like about having just 1 data feed is that you don't know if it is slow or not.

I am always making sure that IQ feed (data feed for my charts, Ensign) is in sync with IB. It seems like cheap insurance to me.

Keep in mind that if you want to use IB as your data feeder you need to run IB and your selected software during all trading day. IB doesn't have historical data base. You must use a chart software that allows you save the data in your own hard drive in the way you can use it afterwards.

I agree with savings in any business as long as they won't hurt your business performance and results. Take care of cents cause dollars take care of themselves is an old saying in my home town.

All of the charts in Medved have a time bar at the bottom of the chart. Simply grab the left side of the time bar with your mouse and drag it to what ever time frame (number of bars) you wish to see. In total, this move should take about 3 seconds. I will post a chart with the time bar.

Edit: If you have the screen space you could just view two charts. One showing the whole days data and the other just showing the last 30 bars or what ever you would like.

Sharp showed one way to zoom in/out. Here are 3 more:
1) use the +/- keys on the right side of the keyboard to zoom in/out and arrows on the keyboars (and page up/down) to move left/right once zoomed in.

2) zoom in to a particular area on the chart by holding down the CTRL key then highlight the area you want to zoom into on the chart with the mouse

3) Set particular time frames by either right clicking on the chart and select Time Period, or using the corresponding shortcuts (1 for last 10 minutes, 2 for last 30 minutes, 3 for last hour, etc)

QuoteTracker definitely supports futures charts as well as quotes. You just need to use a datafeed that supports futures, such as IQFeed, IB, CyberTrader, MB Trading, myTrack to name a few.
