I believe we agree there, if you think like I do, that the establishment is basically our oligarchs. Not to worry, the establishment is not going to let Trump go much further.

Why didn’t “they” do it to the first time? Not to worry, the establishment is not going to let Trump go much further. They'll take him out one way or another.
My guess is that he's a great divider (on cultural issues, but it doesn't really matter what) of the working class, so he's useful for ruling. Why didn’t “they” do it to the first time?
Because "they" completely misread the political tealeaves. The establishment was shocked to their core in 2016. While very powerful, they're not infallible. Arrogance is their Achilles heal. Unlikely they'll make the same mistake again. It's all about timing. The fly in the ointment is whether or not to arrange an accident for Trump, or does a slip and fall for president dementia do the trick? Can a late arrival beat Trump? Can anyone beat Trump if they can't remove him from the picture? Less fallout to deal with just conceding 2024, but like I wrote earlier, the progressive left is impatient and 2028 is light years away in the political word. So many decisions, and the clock is ticking. We do live in interesting times. Why didn’t “they” do it to the first time?

I fully agree with all of this. In this case we have some historical context, and we know from history that those living at the time the 14th was adopted interpreted it to mean what's written. "Engaged in" was apparently all that was necessary in their minds. I read about this somewhere recently but I can't recall where. Nevertheless it is reasonable to assume that there must be some criteria on which to base whether or not someone "engaged in". The U.S. Congress spent a very large amount of both time and money on one of the most thorough investigations in our history, and the Colorado lower court held a one week trial in which evidence for and against Trump's" engagement was decided. Colorado's Supreme Court used both these findings in making its decision. We can't therefore reasonably conclude that the Colorado High Court's decision was in anyway arbitrary or politically motivated. They went where the established facts took them.We can't in one hand claim the constitution is an ever evolving document (2nd, 14th, 19th, etc...) and not realize that there's imperfect provisions in it. When that section was penned, conviction could've been implied despite the clear reading of the text.
You were defeated soundly in this matter. It's time to move on.I fully agree with all of this. In this case we have some historical context and we know from history that those living at the time the 14th was adopted interpreted it to mean exactly what is written. It is so nice to have ET colleagues, such as yourself who do think independently, who do apply logic, and who do challenge what needs to be challenged.
WOEFULLY STATED AND CONTRIVED!!

Like Biden beating your guy. Have you moved on?You were defeated soundly in this matter. It's time to move on.
