144 tick charts

Rosicrucians believe we are reincarnated every 144 years.

Franz is probably a Rosicrucian.

Therefore, the 144-tick chart.

Or, he is just plain nuts. I think he is just plain nuts.

I missed the question a few pages back, but yes, data comes from the exchanges and your software produces the time charts.

The thing is that the CME began bundling its ticks, so the data that it sends is now different. Your software will still produce 144 ticks, but they won't be what they used to be.

This will affect future, not sure about stocks.

Other things such as premium numbers, or trin are all computed by your software, these do not come from the exchange.

Thanks for the answer. But if I am usually able to see executions one by one on an Time and Sales window (on my NT), where is the bundling done? Is it perhaps that the CME sends data at a given interval (say, 1/10th second) and that much becomes a "bundle", whether it's 0 or 1 or even 300 contracts during news events?

Ask him if you only use a 72 tick chart if he can sell it for $2500.00.

You've got a point there. Thanks. However, I would only take his offer for $99.99 max.

The system apparently works (I followed it real-time for a couple of hours during the session)
Just curious if you confirmed his charts were in realtime. Did you pull up your own realtime chart of what he was trading?

I did, and as soon as I changed to 144 ticks, they seemed remarkably similar (his were delayed about a second, since they were coming from his hotComm room).

You are paying over only by $99.99 then.

The reason it's bullshit is because a 144 tick chart is not 144 anymore. You would now have to use a 216 chart to have a 144. This is because the exchange began to bundle their trades. So anyone using a 144 doesn't know that they really using a 90 something tick chart. I bet bullseye probably doesn't even know that.

wat

why? i don't use tick charts anyway so i don't care, i'm just curious why this is the case.

233 is much more secret and special than 144 because it is both a fib sequence AND fib spiral number ! That's why I use 233 ticks on IB , I'm not rich yet but just give me 233 years screen time and Goldman Sucks will be my biatch.
