They DO NOT care how much debt they run up.....
WASHINGTON, Dec 22 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate on Tuesday set a Christmas Eve vote on final congressional approval of a bill to provide a two-month hike in the federal debt limit.
The measure, passed last week by the House of Representatives, would provide a $290 billion increase in the debt limit, which is now at $12.1 trillion.
After anticipated Senate passage, the measure will go to President Barack Obama to sign into law.
The Treasury Department has warned that it would likely reach the current debt limit by Dec. 31, potentially putting the United States at risk of default.
U.S. lawmakers want to avoid default, but have refused to provide a long-term increase amid mounting concern about the debt limit.
Democratic leaders had hoped to raise the limit by at least $1.8 trillion, which would be enough to ensure that they wouldn't have to revisit the issue before the November 2010 congressional elections.
But they were unable to agree on measures that lawmakers had hoped to attach to the legislation to get the debt under control. The two-month hike provides more time to reach a deal.
What has USA done so as to collect/accumlate debts of $133 Trillion?. Is it because of outsourcing jobs and manufacturing to China and India?.

One of the reasons is a clearly failed political/govt. system....
Here it is....
Let's say you own a factory....
You produce products that require expertise in one's ability to machine parts very accurately ....or there will be no products to sell....and only losses to show on the books....
It is difficult to find top machinists with this expertise....but in order to produce the much needed products....they are essential....
The US has opted to replace finely qualified machinists with people that only have experience in living off of their father's income.....or just knows someone at the factory....
Thus the factory is there....the workers simply are not qualified for the job....
But the real madness is that they keep insisting that they are....and hang around as long as a paycheck keeps coming.....and because they know people at the factory....nobody will replace them....
And do take note....having a third political party .....will have the same problems....if the people are not qualified....

The US system is highly flawed....
It allows people that have no expertise to be in a political office....
Thus the reason for the current problems .....

What to do ?
Change the system such that qualified people are in important productive sensitive positions....then the factory...which is there....will produce the much needed products....

What do you see ?
A lot of NON QUALIFIED PEOPLE who have been given production responsibilities but do not have a clue....
ie the Transaction Tax...review their bios on wiki.....not one has any sort of background whatsoever in securities ....none....but have been put in charge to impact the markets....

More time. LOL. That's the one thing we don't have and cannot afford. Currently, democrats want to pay for the debt by seizing every dime in private hands. And republicans want to double the size of government while cutting taxes by a ton. Meanwhile the voters have been dissected into one major group, one smaller group and one practically nonexistent group. The major group wants handouts every 10 minutes and punish any "winners in life's lottery" who manage to hold down a job AKA "Spread the Wealth". The second, much smaller group wants government to make everybody go to church on Sunday and tell you what you can smoke and drink and say and do and doesn't want to pay for any of it either. Then a tiny, microscopic group (I think there are 12 of us altogether) don't want handouts, don't need or want government to take care of us, don't need or want government to tell us what to eat and where to go and what house to buy and how much mortgage we can afford and especially don't want to pay for any of that.
So you can count on more government and lots more taxes. Yay. Where's the line for <A href="http://www.campaignforliberty.com/blog.php?view=3270">Ice Cream</a>?
