100 year bonds - would any of you buy them

Your locked in to a really crappy return for a hundred years and I personally think that the UK will either inflate to nothing or default. I can't understand why anyone would think any different.

Your opinion is duly noted. However, there's clearly quite a few people out there who love these things (if I had to guess, they're in it for the convexity).

Are the bonds backe by anything?

What does the UK have to provide growth other than the financial sector?

Anyway I won't touch them with a barge pole.
