Reality, it's the present and future. IT is a huge cost center for companies. The profit center suits realized they had to reduce their IT costs and so they did and will continue to do so.

Agile and SCRUM have only made offshoring easier. You eliminate the risk upfront using iterative releases/sprints.

Eventually, we will get to a point where the prototype will be programmed automatically from the requirements. Where is the need for programmers then?

Not in Corporate America.

You must understand, programming for the majority of Corporate America will become drag & drop.

Lets not get too carried away here. Most CEO's barely have the intelligence to even tie their own shoes, nevermind operate a computer these days.

No installation needed. No IT department to maintain your servers. No office space needed.

The cloud is the future. It will reduce costs, carbon footprints, etc.

This is the start of the end of Microsoft, commercial real estate, and eventually most programmers and IT staff.
