$1 million lottery ticket for sale

Wayne would be quite the character for Trump or anyone else to profile. He definitely puts the "good" in ol' country boy, for sure.

Sadly, Wayne smoked most of his life even while knowing both of his parents died of lung cancer. Seems like a poor choice to say the least, but if you knew Wayne, you'd understand.

Wayne's had numerous offers of $400k for his ticket, but that would entail paying income tax on the sum at transfer. There is no way to assign the ticket without paying tax on the cash sum, which defeats the purpose of that.

Still plenty of time on the clock, and his story is hitting national news. Maybe Tom Golisano or Danny Wegman will get involved... both local billionaires that live in Rochester, both are tied to area hospitals for treatment of life threatening illness. We'll see.

As for the early flack this thread drew, no harm done. It didn't really occur to me that people would question the reality of it... I definitely have no desire to post anything false or bunk in public for many reasons.

The story does seem hard to believe at first, until you read about it in national news. Then all of a sudden, it has credibility. I understand :>)

I would advise to contact a major anti-smoking campaign company directly to make sure they're aware of all the publicity and present the idea that they could increase their own campaign awareness with his story.

There is also a Hollywood agency that links celebrities with causes and acts as an agent of sorts for these sorts of things. There could be some anti-smoking celebrity like Tony Randall (who died at 84 a cuople years ago) who would take on the case to make the point. Basically someone could make 100,000's of publicity off this and that's the person who will do it.

apologizing in advance . but am i the only one who feels that this situation is slightly analogous to a drunk driver killing themselves by hitting a tree? is it the fact that he is 'dying' and not 'dead' rather than that he won some money that makes this more tragic and worth our sympathies/thoughts? i guess he did not put surrounding people in any 'immediate' danger (if you believe second hand smoke is a myth or not) like a drunk driver.

its perplexing to see so much thought, sympathy, media coverage, time and (shockingly) effort spent on a situation like this, i guess we all like a good story and a little irony. its hard to imagine the above when there are far more deserving and immediate human beings who could benefit far more by this media/public effort (see children in darfur), then again they are not white americans (with a hero persona caused by winning the lottery), and admittedly i dont go out of my way to help either. maybe we are all a little racist inside.

Ok, I didn't have time to read the whole 19 pages...So somebody might have done the math already..if not, here goes..

A. In most cases a lump sum is now available , even if you didn't choose the option when purchasing a ticket. That is usually 40-50 percent of the value of the prize. So lets say its worth half, 500,000.00
A1. This puts anyone in the hi tax bracket! 39.6% so the ABSOLUTE best value of the ticket, and it's probably not this high, would be around 300,000.00.
A2. YOU ARE ASKING 100,000.00 AT LEAST MORE THAN THE TICKET IS WORTH, WITHOUT EVEN CALCULATING INTEREST!

BTW, I first saw this SCAM offered about 22 years ago, itsbeen around that long! Exact same details, too!
 
i'll give the cat 400 k, but only if he signs over the movie rights, including rights to sell chatzkees after he kicks.

Let me see if I have this straight: your very first post in this forum here comes from knee-jerk response to skimming the first bit of this thread and <b>ass u ming</b> all kinds of false b.s. from there?

Fearless forecast: you have a very brief career in this profession ahead of you. Try working on your research, study, reading and comprehension skills first.
