1 dead, 2 injured in stabbing at Spring H.S. - Will Congress Legislate Knife Ban Too?

Quote from tomdavis:

Actually, you're almost as likely to get hit by lightning sitting in a movie theater or a school as you are anywhere else because the odds are so close to zero under any circumstances.

Trying to control one-in-a-million individual human behavior events is a waste of time and effort. Be aware of your surroundings and get on with your life.
Then banning assault rifles shouldn't trouble you much, just get on with your life.

The total number of people killed in the US with rifles of any kind is about 300-400 each year. Literally, a one-in-a-million event. Why should rifles of any kind be banned?

According to FBI data, you're 4-5 times more likely to be killed by a knife than you are to be killed by a rifle. In fact, you're twice as likely to be killed by a punch or kick as you are to be killed by a rifle. Should we ban hands and feet?

How about we ban rye whiskey, so you can get on with YOUR life?
