1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Seriously, if a republican or the administration propose an insurance fee bill, the tobin is dead in the US, and pretty much worldwide....Tell your congressmen to introduce a new insurance fee bill on banks.

^^^^ ABSOLUTELY AGREE

Basically they just want to punish Wall Street somehow... let them doing it through an insurance fee and get them off our backs.

Amen to that. It would have been a heck of lot easier for him to do whatever his own party wanted to do. At least he had guts to stand up to them. At least so far...

I want to see him go more indepth on this and what Obama thinks will help us to understand what they are thinking. I also want it out of the mind of Pelosi. It seems that one senator is going to introduce a bill next week in the senate, with Bernard Saunders whom is an independent. Dam there goes one of our indies! So far so good though we have opposition to it as long as they remain tough. That letter with 200 economists was ridiculous, our lobbies need to do the same thing of people that support it in the world of economics.

“We need our elected officials to focus on policies that will help the business community create productivity and get people back to work,” David Hirschmann, a senior official with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce said shortly after DeFazio announced his legislation. “This tax will deter job creation, investment and retirement savings.”

It's good to have the US Chamber of Commerce as an ally.

Calling Bernie Saunders an Independent is a joke. This guy is a socialist from way back.

Geithner video from fox, nothing great he is talking about the tax not being useful to pay tarp or defecits. Which is all good but... now that everybody's harping on it for jobs different story. Especially with people in congress's distaste for Geithner. Get this jobs bill out of the way and lets see what happens at the IMF , we can assume this crap wont die down for some time, so we have to be fighting every step of the way. Regardless if things become silent about this for a while, still write congress, we should all write to Nazi Pelosi as well.
