I sure am disappointed to hear Jim Cramer CNBC shrug off this 'trader's tax' idea as irrelevant and saying 'we deserve it'. I don't know exactly who "we" might be but individual traders who make a living in the market sure did nothing to deserve it. So much for watching out for the little guy. We need people like Cramer to sound alarm on this issue and not shrug it off as unimportant. It is a totally misguided and very dangerous tax.
Why not go after the banks and politician who created the sub-prime problem instead of killing the market? If you want to stop program and high-frequency trading then address that. The need to extract revenge on anyone and anything connected with the market will carry tremendous negative repercussions.

Not happy with it but i think that it is fair game and not as catastrophic as in old days. I think there is a perception in this country that all taxes are bad. My thinking is that EVERYONE has to bear costs including people who trade. I pay 50% of my income in taxes. I dont want more taxes. But i think that things have gotten out of control and we need taxes and spending cuts and i am not going NIMBY on people. Sorry i disappointed.... but we need change..
