1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Hey Guru,

It has been pretty quiet. I guess the dems just need something to spark up the debate. I wouldnt worry about the highway bill, its the same to jokers pulling that shit again. I dont put much credence in it. I think the quiet has been good. I enjoyed it :)

High frequency trading is a frequent phrase the bashers have been using-anything not held more than 5 years I suppose. They are lumping high frequency with dark pools, naked, flash, etc.

I think I read somewhere that by mid 2010 the SEC will have a report or rule proposals.

No trans tax is mentioned in around 10 articles, but there is more than one way to kill trading.

Kaufman(D): high frequency, risk, act urgently

You're correct.

An HFT thread will be needed as we get closer to the SEC's HFT comment period.

The concern is the definition of HFT. Is it 1 roundtrip a day, 10, 100, 500? I grew concerned during one of the SEC hearings with the head of the division of trading & market speaking about dark pools but mentioned HFT & a low number of round trips.

Will those who use ANY trade automation software provided by even the most retail of brokers like Ameritrade, Fidelity, Tradestation, or any broker's (lowest end to highest end) API to automate intraday strategies be consider High Frequency Traders?

Will there be a new minimum holding period for stocks?

Lots to be concerned with going forward.

The rumblings from the housing collapse are going to be giving us concerns for the foreseeable future.

That fucking CNBC cunt just brought this tax up again (YES AGAIN!) as a means to fund road infrastructure costs.

WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS CUNT?

Thats what f'ing happens this gets all quiet and the very liberal dems like defazio or someone brings this shit up so they can get some tv time on it, and that whore opens her legs and says hey tell me I will put it on the air!

We should becuase half the advertisements we see on cnbc are for trading platforms through etrade or schawb or currencies, yes they use that eveil word TRADING!
